Claims

  • The most recent attack by the carrier has come in the form of paying basic day penalty claims then docking overtime against this penalty payment. This happens even at local claims conferences.  Please let the Local Committee know when this happens, as we will appeal. - 04/26/2008

East Pool

  • While method 2 (2007 On Property Agreement, Article 11) is in effect in the East pool the sequential numbering aspect of turns will be suspended in order that pool turn owners are able to return to their respective turn positions that they held prior to vacation.Should we choose to revert back to method 1 in the future then the East pool will once again be sequentially numbered.  All other applicable rules of the ID Run Through Agreement remain the same.

Pool Placement
  • POOL PLACEMENT AVAILABLE AGAIN FOR THE EAST POOL

Per Local Agreement, Pool Placement is used to determine where new turns are to be added to the pools.

Both Regular and Extra Board Engineers:

    • When working into the Alliance Terminal from Ravenna and you are handling engines or engines and cars, use the time that you pass SWEPCO - M.P. 361.8 as your Pool Placement Time.
    • If you are transporting to the Alliance Terminal from a location east of SWEPCO - M.P. 361.8, use your Arrival Time at the Alliance Terminal as your Pool Placement Time.
    • The POS field on the TSS tieup screen is where your Pool Placement Time is entered.  The ARR field is where you enter your Arrival Time
    • That part of General Notice #138 "TSS Tieup Instructions" has more information about the tieup process.

Vacation Issues

Engineer "Vacation Change" Bids

All vacation change bids for engineers in Alliance and terminals covered by Alliance will be handled by the office of BLE-T Division 622.  Forms are available at your terminal or here on the website.  Forms must be faxed to the Division Office at (308) 762-2220.  The deadline for submissions is 1300 on Wednesday of each week.  Bids will be awared no later than 48 hours later at 1300 on Friday of that week.  Incomplete forms will be rejected.

ADDITION: 01/02/2009
As part of the procedure, you MUST call the BLE-T office at 762-2220 and leave a message (mail box #4) indicating that you have faxed a vacation bid in. This is a critical step because the LCA needs to match up the messages with the faxes received to make sure all bids were properly received by the fax machine. If a message is received that indicates that an engineer has faxed a bid in and there is no fax/bid found, the LCA can call that engineer to come up with a plan to process the bid. This process is the same process used when the crew callers handled the vacaton bids. This addition is being entered because some engineers have failed to read the general notices (which supercedes this web site) and follow them step by step.
Currently Powder River General Notice #249 explains the vacation bidding process. The notice number may change in the furture as the carrier updates it's notices. Be assured that the LCA will always advocate the need for this notice to be included along with all the other notices in an attempt to inform and educate our membership!
