We want to thank everyone who came out to our Educational Event earlier this week.
There are a couple of resources we received from the FRA during this event we wanted to share with our members.
The first is called the eCFR. This is an Electronic version of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) which provides a way of exploring and searching the Code of Federal Regulations. If you have any questions about FRA compliance, this is a great resource.
Specifically, pay attention to Chapter II - Federal Railroad Administration sections:
Part 215 - Freight Car Safety Standards
Part 218 - Blue Signal
Part 223 - Safety Glazing / Windows
Part 229 - Locomotive Safety Standards
Part 231 - Safety Appliances
Part 232 - Air Brakes

The FRA also has a new FRA Violation Reporting Website, allowing you to report any observed violation directly to the FRA. This would include any Hours of Service or Safety Violation you may encounter. It should cut down on the response time, and make it easier for all of us to report information to the FRA.

We are continuing to have discussions with the FRA local representatives. As we receive more information, we will pass it along.
The above information and more information is also available on the FRA page of our website.
